Project Engineer opening in the Indianapolis, IN area for candidates to plan, performs, and direct program engineering activities and hardware procurement, testing, and delivery activities for gas turbine engines. This is a potential long term contract opportunity. Local candidates or those able to self relocate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical work packages under the direction of the Chief of Sub-system and the Work Package Owner
• Manages program aspects of projects for systems and components
• Develops and maintains major sub-system requirements and ensures compliance with requirements as well as Identify risks and develop mitigation plans
• Responsible for managing major manufacturing or engineering subcontractors
• Facilitate teamwork between many disciplines such as manufacturing, quality, engineering, product support, and test
• Communicate technical and business results via reports and presentations

Requirements

• BS in engineering (ME or Aerospace preferred ) with approximately 3 years or more experience ideally with gas turbine engines or other industries associated with rotating equipment (automotive or similar)
• Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to plan and structure a complex multi-disciplinary workscope
• Good interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and working effectively in a team environment
• Must be motivated to accept responsibility and take initiative to accomplish results for multiple customers on schedule and within a set budget
• Excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communications
• Experience working with manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and design is a plus
