A leading manufacturer of industrial glass products is currently seeking a Supplier Engineer to prepare detailed specifications based on drawing packages and unique requirements of the manufacturing facility in the Wilmington, NC, area. This is a CONTRACT position. Assignment length is 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only. This is an exempt position per FLSA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and approve commercial bid packages
• Validate construction bidders lists
• Analyze industry and market conditions, prices and trends, and supplier financials
• Provide analytical support for negotiations and participate in negotiations
• Issue and manage competitive RFQ's, negotiate prices, and award purchase orders

Requirements

• Experience as a Purchasing Engineer in a construction environment
• Experience negotiating strategic or capital equipment purchases and contract terms
• Strategic sourcing experience
• PeopleSoft Procurement module
• Cost-modeling of procured goods and services
• Experience with the Import of process equipment
• Global Manufacturing Start-up and equipment experience
